There will definitely be plus points of owning the Galaxy Note 8, but crunching impressive performance numbers will definitely not be one of them according to the latest AnTuTu benchmarking scores. The scores leak also provides another revelation; the Note 8 is actually slower than the Galaxy S8 though there could be lots of reasons for this.

Despite featuring 6GB of RAM, the Galaxy Note 8 disappoints quite a bit in AnTuTu and before you question which chipset is powering the phone, it is the Exynos 8895 along with a Mali-G71 GPU. The 6GB of RAM is definitely icing on top for users to take advantage of additional multitasking.

The benchmarking scores are definitely a pleasant sight to see assuming your phone is powerful enough to obtain a huge score, but that is not the complete story. It is more than possible that the smartphone’s UI was not optimized for this particular unit when the benchmark was running. With the Galaxy Note 8 announced, it is expected to feature a new UI that will work nicely with the crisp 6.3-inch Super AMOLED panel.

Another thing that we noticed about the Galaxy Note 8 is that the display resolution has been marked as 2,220 x 1,080. This is not the QHD+ we were all led to believe and love but something else triggered in our brain. Even the Galaxy S8 came with a smaller resolution by default to conserve battery life so it is definitely possible that with the launch of the phone, users will have to up this resolution manually.

Plus points of owning the Note 8 will be its dual-camera configuration as well as the S-Pen-exclusive features. The smartphone is going to be announced on August 23, so we will let you know everything about the flagship phablet then.
