Famous virtualization software Parallels Desktop has been bumped to version 13 for Mac users bringing in support for macOS High Sierra, Touch Bar, Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and more.

Parallels Desktop 13 Adds Support for macOS High Sierra Ahead of its Big Release Set for Later this Year

If you're planning to run Windows on your Mac, then nothing comes close to the power which Boot Camp offers natively in macOS. But the problem with Boot Camp is that you have to restart your Mac every single time in order to access Windows. With virtualization software like Parallels Desktop, you don't have to do that. You just simple launch the software and Windows will boot in a separate window in macOS. Thankfully, the aforementioned software has now been updated to version 13, adding to the table which was most requested by users.

If you're an owner of one of the latest MacBook Pro notebooks from Apple, then you'll be pleased to learn that Parallels Desktop 13 now includes support for the Touch Bar. This allows you to control certain aspects of the virtual copy of Windows you're running, such as Office.

The new Parallels Desktop is far faster than before too. You should see speed increase of up to 47 percent when accessing files compared to previous version of the software. But the story doesn't end there either - the files you copy using your Mac's I/O will see a significant boost in speed too, which is a big deal for a lot of users who keep their content on external mediums such as a portable SSD.

Wrapping things up is the support for macOS High Sierra, which is set for release later this year, and if you wish, you can also virtualize the latest Windows 10 Fall Creators Update as well. Therefore you are not limited to a vanilla installation of Windows 10.
