Final Fantasy XV debuted in November last year and since then the development team led by Hajime Tabata has not stopped working on this RPG title. The creator assured that Square Enix would release a great amount of content for the game, for which we have already seen several DLC, like Episode Prompto and Episode Gladiolus.

Hajime Tabata still has a lot of work ahead, especially for the arrival of the game to PC; however, he already has plans to continue his career in another project. During a meeting with the IGN media, the director said that he is already thinking about the next game that the team will develop in charge of Final Fantasy XV.

According to Tabata, it will be later this year when they will start working on their next project in an important way: "Obviously we’re doing a lot of different things within the XV development team at the moment. But every single thing that we’re doing then really is something that we have to do to get the experience to move on to do our next project. So I think we will clearly be moving in that direction at the beginning of next year," Tabata said.

Also during the interview, the director commented that they have different plans with Final Fantasy XV, all of them with "different directions". To a large extent, the developer refers to the arrival of the mobile game of Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, as well as the project they have for Nintendo Switch.

Of course, it is too early to know any details about the next game of Tabata. It is worth remembering that the director discarded the idea of a sequel to Final Fantasy XV, so it is probably another installment of the series or a new IP. We will have to wait for more details about Tabata's plans.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition will hit PC in early 2018. Here you can see how this latest version of the title looks like in 4K and 60 fps.

Tabata also said he would like to further expand the narrative universe of the game with a focus on characters like Lunafreya or Ardyn Izunia.
