Google released Android 8.0 Oreo, last week and it also brought official source code released in Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This enabled the developers all around the world to build Android’s latest update for their device. According to a report by XDA Developers, there is one new unofficial build in the wild, which is meant for those who want to test Oreo on their Snapdragon-powered Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 device.
There are different SoC variants for the Redmi Note 4, so just check again if you have the Snapdragon variant. You can check it by downloading the app "AIDA64" from the Google Play Store; it will find out the chipset information on your device.
The initial build of LineageOS 15 for the Redmi Note 4 has debuted on XDA forums. The XDA Senior Member thp@1997 developed the build with support other members. One of the XDA member Highwaystar_ru has tested it on his device. It is an early build, which means that it is plagued with bugs so you should be sure before getting it on your Redmi Note 4 unit.

As mentioned above, essential functions like VoLTE, SELinux, fingerprint reader (Goodfix) are not working on this build, so if you use these functions, then this build could cause a major inconvenience for you. On the brighter side, functions like RIL, WiFi, Bluetooth, the camera, Fingerprint (FPC only), sensors, FM radio, the LED and GPS are claimed to be working fine.
