Rockstar Games has announced four new versions of L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and HTC Vive.
Scheduled for a release on November 14, the three new console versions of the 2011 PS3/Xbox 360 game, include the original game alongside all of the additional post-launch content. As announced by Rockstar, the Nintendo Switch version will include a special Joy-con mode “with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work.”

Set against the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is the story of decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.
Running in native 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game will offer a range of technical enhancements, including high HD textures, enhanced clouds and lighting, new cinematic camera angles, and more. The title will also benefit from additional PS4 Pro and Xbox One enhancements, including 4K resolution. As confirmed by Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra, the game will be Xbox One X enhanced with additional enhancements aside from 4K resolution.

Also releasing on November 14th is the HTC Vive version of the game, entitled L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files which features seven select cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for a virtual reality experience on the Vive.
Initially released by Rockstar for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, L.A. Noire was officially announced back in 2006. A complete edition including all DLC was announced for PC in 2011 and was later released for both PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. “L.A. Noire is a new type of game that makes players see through a detective’s eyes in 1940s Los Angeles,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games back in 2011. “Its unique blend of story, action and crime solving will be perfect to play on PC.”
