Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro Looks Like a Windows 10-Running Version of Apple’s MacBook Pro Powered by Intel’s 8th-Gen Chips

Xiaomi entered the notebook market with its Mi Notebook Air to target Apple’s MacBook lineup with a cheaper Windows 10 alternative. Now, the manufacturer is here with a more powerful machine called the Mi Notebook Pro and from an ‘aesthetics only’ position, you’d definitely be quick to judge that it looks strikingly similar to the MacBook Pro but is running Microsoft’s Windows 10 platform. However, it features Intel’s latest processors and other hardware upgrades that are sure to smoothen out the experience for you.

Mi Notebook Pro Can Be Configured With an Intel i7 Processor, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and Features a Diversified Selection of Ports That Includes Type-C USB

The Mi Notebook Pro sports a display size of 15.6 inches that boasts narrow bezels, with the display protected by 3rd-generation Gorilla Glass. Xiaomi was quick to point out that its flagship notebook features a diversified selection of ports, ranging from Type-A USB ports, HDMI to Type-C USB ports (there is one included which the company is labeling as full function USB-C, but has not specified if this is a Thunderbolt 3 port or not).

The keyboard can be backlit and looks very similar to the MacBook Pro’s configuration when it comes to key shape, design choice, and other factors. A NVIDIA GeForce MX150 is also included but it will certainly not deliver earth-shattering graphics performance ‘out of the box’. If the Mi Notebook Pro features a Thunderbolt 3 port, then we are certain that you will be able to attach an eGPU and enjoy next-gen gaming titles at fluid frames.

Thanks to Intel’s 8th-generation processors, you get more cores and more threads at your disposal. Gone are the days where you would have to rely on just two cores because Intel’s latest lineup gives you command at 4 cores and 8 threads. You can also upgrade the notebook to tout up to 16GB of DDR4 2,400MHz RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD will be included in the mix.

Xiaomi claims that you can get four NVMe SSD expansion slots for maximum storage configuration, meaning there are lots of flexibility options the company is providing to those that make the switch.

The base model of the Mi Notebook Pro is priced at RMB 6,399 ($980) so it will definitely carry a much higher price once it starts getting sold overseas.
