After the anticipation over the past few days, Capcom has officially announced that Okami HD will be released again in Japan with 4K support starting on December 21 this year, at a price of 2,990 yen plus tax.
This new edition, called Okami: Zekkei, is expected to release on consoles of Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and will be also available in a special limited edition at a cost of 4,990 yen.
We are now waiting for a confirmation about a possible Western release of the title, which we hope will be given soon.
Recently, Okami HD appeared on the Korean Game Rating Board for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
As you may already know, we remember that the original version of the title was launched in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and then landed on Wii in 2008 and 2013 on PlayStation 3 in the HD edition.
The author of the old adventure title of Okami is Hideki Kamiya, known for his work on Resident Evil, Bayonetta, Viewtiful Joe, Devil May Cry and the recently canceled Scalebound. Today, he is employed at Platinum Games, an Osaka-based independent development studio.
Capcom itself has shown their interest in performing more remasters of their own games more than once. It should not be forgotten that in recent times Capcom has been characterized by relaunching some of its titles, Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 being the most recent, to which more titles should be added in the future.
More details are expected to come during the Tokyo Game Show, which starts from September 21 to 24.
