Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, the new entry in the series developed by Falcom, will not release today on PC, publisher NISA confirmed.

According to the publisher, the game has been pushed back due to continued efforts in improving gameplay quality. The game has entered a closed beta testing phase earlier this month, so it's likely that the publisher wasn't able to fix all the issues that emerged during the testing. Additionally, it's possible for all those who pre-purchased the game on Steam to get a refund. A new release date will be announced at a later time.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is one of the best entries in the series, if not the very best, thanks to an engaging story, a huge amount of content and the many refinements to the party based system originally introduced in Ys Seven.

It took years for Falcom to develop the perfect entry in the series, and with Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Dana, they finally managed to do so by refining the renewed story focus and gameplay mechanics introduced in Ys Seven without taking away what makes the series so enjoyable. With a well-executed, albeit not really original story, charming cast, fast paced battle system, engaging boss battles, tight challenge level and plenty of side-content, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Dana is without a doubt the best entry in the series and one of the best action role-playing games released this year.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana launches today in North America on PS4 and PS Vita. The game will launch in Europe on September 15th.
