Those who have been unable to purchase an NES Classic Edition console, the new edition of the classic Nintendo 8-bit console released last year, at reasonable prices will get another chance next year, the Japanese company confirmed.

In a fresh press release, Nintendo confirmed that additional shipments of the console will be arriving sometime next Summer.

Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments.

Additionally, the Japanese company confirmed that more SNES Classic Edition units will be shipped at launch than the NES Classic Edition, with subsequent shipments arriving in stores regularly.

In addition, more units of Super NES Classic Edition will ship on its Sept. 29 launch day in the U.S. than were shipped of NES Classic Edition all last year, with subsequent shipments arriving in stores regularly. Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems, so Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves.

Nintendo Of America's president Reggie Fils-Aimé himself confirmed yesterday that what happened last year won't be happening with SNES Classic Edition, suggesting fans to not spend more than retail price on auction sites.

The SNES Classic Edition launches in all regions later this month.
