Ah the iPhone X. The device would've been perfect if it didn't cost $1000. Oh pardon us, it's $999. Apple's changed a lot since its beginning. The company's roots lay in the hacker community, frequented by Jobs and Wozniak before they created one of the most valuable brands in the world. It's ironic how something with anti status-quo roots now caters to those with a $1,000 to spare. Oh pardon us, it's $999. Well, it's time we stacked this year's flagship iPhones against their 2016 counterparts. What has changed over the year? A lot, and little. Take a look below to find out more.
Apple's 2016 iPhone Lineup Vs The iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus And iPhone 8 - Design, Specifications & Features Analyzed
Last year, Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus event was relatively subdued. Sure we got a dedicated camera ISP. And sure Jony Ive was kind enough to give us new colors and 'anodized aluminum'. But the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus didn't sound like generational upgrades. Rather, they were better off titled as the iPhone 6s//6s Plus Pt. 2. The iPhone X is how you truly do a generational upgrade Apple. Hope you're taking notes from yourself now.
So now, it's time to pit brother against brother and cousin against cousin. Which iPhone is which, it's up to you decide. We'll start from the iPhone X. Apple's tenth anniversary iPhone hits just the sweet spot. It's got an aluminum build with a glass back, which is also present on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. However, at the front of the device is a Super Retina HD display, with a 2536 x 1125 resolution. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus pale in comparison, with 1334 x 750 and 1920 x 1080 respectively.
The iPhone X's front is absolutely gorgeous, with a button free display. At the top of this display is a neat cutout for Face ID, which make a strong appearance rather than blend out. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus don't change much from their predecessors in this regard. At the back, it's once again the iPhone X which takes the lead with a brand new vertical dual camera setup. Performance wise, all three feature the Apple A11 Bionic, with six cores.
Moving towards the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the pair is powered with Apple's quad core A10 Fusion. Technical camera specifications remain virtually unchanged from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 8. Both the smartphones feature 12MP, f/1.8 rear cameras. It's nearly the same case with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 Plus as well. The iPhone X on the other hand features a six element lens, with the telephoto lens' aperture width slightly larger at f/2.4 than the 8 Plus' f/2.8. Take a detailed look at the specifications below and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
