AirPower Wireless Charging Pad

AirPower

As expected or tipped by the raging rumours before the launch event, Apple indeed launched a new wireless charging pad dubbed the ‘AirPower’. It is a wireless pad for charging your iPhone 8 or iPhone X and even AirPods. This wireless charging pad is all set to go on sale next year. Apple has used a new charging standard in the product to support multi-device charging. It supports one device on the pad at a specific time. For now, we don't know about the shipping timeline of the device, but we will soon have all the information.

FaceID - New Unlocking Feature on the iPhone X

On the iPhone X, Apple has ditched the Touch ID for Face ID, which is face recognition technology. The phone uses your face as the password and measures your face traits. You just have to look at your iPhone X, and it will unlock the device. At the event, Apple claimed that the Face ID safe than the Touch ID. To ensure the highest level of safety for users, Apple did ample tests before including Face ID on the iPhone X.

Apple built TrueDepth Camera System for Face ID feature. With the mix of sensors or features like infrared camera, flood illuminator, dot projector, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, microphone, and front camera, Face ID creates a 3D map of your face and checks it via neural engine in the new A11 Bionic processor. Apple says that the Face ID system fails one in a million. Well, we will have to wait for the phone to hit the sale shelves to see if Face ID is as nifty and secure as Apple touts.
