The HD Voice feature is an addition to iPhones that rely on LTE data to offer enhanced quality voice when you're engaged in phone calls. The feature had been available in devices like the iPhone 6 and it looks like the iPhone 8 family supports the next-generation of Enhanced Voice Services.
Enhanced Voice Services, What Does This Mean for You and Your iPhone 8?
Enhanced Voice Services for the iPhone 8 now means that the frequency range of voice calls has been extended from an upper limit of 7kHz to one of 14.4kHz. At the same time, it also boosts the reliability of these calls. So far, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus reportedly provide support for these calls but it will also depend on the carrier you've subscribed to.
Fortunately, major networks in the U.S. provide support for this feature meaning that it would not be a problem if you wanted to enjoy high-quality calls by using your LTE data. Now since both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus provide support for this feature, it undoubtedly means that the iPhone X will support it.
