Removing the 32 and 128GB storage models mean Apple has resorted to selling the 64 and 256GB models of every iPhone model announced this year, including the iPhone X. With the starting price of the bezel-less phone stamped at $999, a survey reveals that more 50 percent of prospective buyers are aiming to get their hands on the larger storage version and while that will require them to grow deeper pockets, it can be summarized as a smart choice, depending on how long they plan on keeping their phones.

“Interestingly, Apple has removed the middle-tier storage option from iPhones. We think that given increasingly greater storage requirements, most of mid-tier storage users will move towards the higher tier.”

Come to think of it, if depending on how long users intend to keep their iPhone X in possession, the higher storage model will actually be worth it. Starting from the endless app updates, to yearly software releases, not to mention huge amounts of memory utilized when recording 4K video at 60FPS, a safety net of internal memory is going to come in handy.

In the RBC Capital Markets survey, 57 percent of prospective buyers aimed to get their hands on the 256GB storage model and out of a pool of 4,196 respondents, 46 percent of them stated that the wireless charging feature of the smartphone was its most attractive addition.

Unfortunately, the response wasn’t particularly siding the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and that was definitely due to the number of changes the iPhone X touts.
