Google Pixel 2 XL Render Leak Reveals a Higher Screen Percentage Than Predecessor With Front-Firing Speakers

With little than a day left until the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are launched, we've finally got a good leak for you. The pair's absence from the rumor mill prior to launch is uncommon, given the mill's activeness. The smartphones will be the second generation of Google's home branded devices and therefore carry a unique hype of their own. Wondering what you'll get from Mountain View this year? Head over below to find out more.

Fresh Google Pixel 2 XL Renders Show Curved Display In Lieu With Overall Frame; Top And Bottom Bezels Are Present

Bezels, Bezels and more Bezels. That's all anyone can talk about when taking a look at flagship smartphones this year. Starting off from the LG G6 and Samsung's Galaxy S8/S8+ and ending with the iPhone X, they've become common to say the least. Bezels and camera bumps have irked consumers and manufacturers for quite a while. After all, who wants to look at ugly and static bars on their screen.

That being said, looks like the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will also follow a similar approach, albeit not completely. Famed tipster Evan Blass is back and very active for Google's upcoming flagship pair. He's got some very authentic looking renders for the devices. A couple of these were shared by us earlier. Now, you can also take a look at the Pixels encased.

Google's finally done away (mostly) with side bezels on the Pixel 2 XL. The new approach reminds us of the LG G6, with the same curved display. It's a new look that's for sure and will help the smartphone survive a complete flagship year. Edge to Edge, OLED displays aren't easy to get in the smartphone world and Google's make done with LG's best. The Pixel 2 XL also appears less wide than LG's flagship, which is a relief as otherwise we'd have another slab of a smartphone to deal with.

We've also got specifications for both the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL for you today. According to Blass, the Pixel 2 will feature a 5" screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage, 12MP rear cameras and front facing stereo speakers. The Pixel 2 XL will feature similar hardware, with the only difference being a 6" display. Resolution for the pair will be 1080p and QHD+. The Snapdragon 835 will power the devices, as Qualcomm's had trouble with the 836's roll out. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We'll keep you updated on the latest.

*UPDATE: We covered the encased image above earlier. However, you can still take a look at the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL specifications.
