With phones with higher screen-to-body ratios featuring a smaller footprint than their previous-generation counterparts, the battery capacity also takes a hit. Case in point is the Galaxy Note 8 and despite its 6.3-inch screen, it just sports a 3,300mAh battery. Huawei Mate 10 is aiming for a change however, and the largest Chinese smartphone manufacturer has provided a teaser on the capacity of the cell that will be powering the upcoming flagship.
Huawei Mate 10 Teased to Sport a Large 4,000mAh Battery
On Huawei’s official Twitter account, the company has provided information on the battery life of the Mate 10, concluding it to be a 4,000mAh cell. This is larger than the capacities of nearly all flagship smartphones such as the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy Note 8, and the Pixel 2 XL.
This could mean that the overall thickness of the flagship will increase but most consumers will be concerned about experiencing an all-day battery life than a phone that’s slightly bulkier. As for wireless charging, we do not believe that Huawei is going to switch over to this feature just yet, though the Mate 10 will undoubtedly provide support for fast-charging.
For a 4,000mAh battery, it still might take a while for the cell to reach its full capacity. Now before you get all excited to get your hands on a near-bezel-less phone with a massive battery, be sure to read up on its rumored price tag. With the Mate 10 Pro expected to cost upwards of $900, the Mate 10 could be sitting at $849, and that too for just the base storage and RAM version.

Still, Huawei is marketing that its smartphone is going to be more than just a regular mobile phone in a previous teaser, revealing that the flagship will have its fair share of capabilities powered by a dedicated AI chip.
