The 2019 ‘iPhone X’ Will Feature Virtual Fingerprint Sensor As Forbes Believes Apple Will Make A Complete U-Turn

Well folks, we might have a big one today. Relevant details for Apple's product launches in H1 are now making fresh rounds on the rumor mill. Otherwise, most sources, notably KGI, focus on gadgets which are not due for another seven months. Right now, we've got another one of these. Apple chose to disregard virtual fingerprint recognition for the iPhone X, focusing its attention completely on the iPhone X's True Depth camera. Apple Will Equip Next Year's iPhone 'X' With A Virtual Fingerprint Sensor As No Major Manufacturer Rumored To Debut The Feature This Year

Apple's shaken things for the iPhone. Unable to drive growth on a brand that's with us for 10 years, Cupertino chose to make sure all the latest technologies are available on a single smartphone. It's a desperate move, one which comes after three years of the lineup's utterly disappointing form. Apple stole the show with Face ID, and chose to ignore virtual fingerprint recognition. In a classic portrayal of 'Jobsian' reality distortion, Apple believed that by sufficient marketing, users will forget the convenience offered by fingerprint sensors.

Today, we've got some very interesting news for the 2019 'iPhone X'. It's Forbes and they claim to have enough information to assemble a prototype for this device. Which isn't surprising, if you know the way Apple works. Jony Ive and his team make hundreds of prototypes, focusing on minute details such as the look and feel for the edges and sides.

The publication claims to have tested and compared Face ID vs Touch ID. And their conclusions give them enough details to make a CAD drawing, for the 2019 iPhone lineup. Forbes' testing reveals that Face ID, while very accurate, forces the user into action. If you're familiar with Apple's design philosophy, this is true. Originally,  Cupertino thought the other way around, making things as intuitive as possible. Steve Jobs' obsession with Eastern philosophy drilled into him a sense of simplicity; one which Ive complemented.

Right now, we can only hope Apple catches sense by 2019. But by then, it just might be too late. While Samsung will not launch virtual fingerprint recognition on the S9/S9+, it can on their successors. And that, will leave Apple biting the dust.
