Samsung Reveals The World’s First FCC Approved 5G Commercial Products

Alongside the launch of its flagship duo, Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, Samsung also unveiled a set of new end-to-end 5G commercial solutions. The products are said to be launched later this year. The products include "commercial form-factor" 5G home routers which can be used both indoors and outdoors. The company said that it used its own in-house technology to create the very first commercial ASIC-based 5G Modems and millimeter wave RFICs which enables the "design of compact access units and CPEs." Samsung To Launch Its 5G Commercial Products Later This Year

Apart from the above-mentioned products, the solution also includes a 5G Radio Access Network. In addition to this,e ach product has "already been proven through months of field trials in multiple markets." On the 23rd of February, the Federal Communications Commission approved the 5G access units. Samsung is also planning to announce its first 5G New Radio products at the Mobile World Congress 2018 that supports spectrum bands which are below and above the 6GHz.

Samsung has developed the world’s first complete commercial 5G FWA solutions, which includes: commercial form-factor 5G home routers (CPEs) for both indoors and outdoors, 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) comprised of a radio access unit and virtualized RAN, a next-generation core, as well as AI-powered 3D radio frequency planning tools and services.

Samsung's various product launches also included one that suggested earlier in the year that affirmed that the company will be providing Verizon with commercial 5G home routers and other devices in order to boost the carrier's 5G network kick off.
