Apple has seen fit to release the first public beta of iOS 11.4 and tvOS 11.4. The firmware updates were available for developers yesterday and it seems the company has kept up with the trend to release it to the general public. iOS 11.4 and tvOS 11.4 beta features various additions contributing to the stability of the firmware. Apart from this, it also packs support for AirPlay 2, which we will talk about later on. So, let's dive in to see some more details on the first public beta of iOS 11.4 and tvOS 11.4.
Apple Has Released The First Public Beta Of iOS 11.4 And tvOS 11.4 With AirPlay 2 Support
Both of the beta firmware updates were made available less than a week after the company rolled out iOS 11.3 and tvOS 11,3 to the general public. If you're interested in trying out the latest beta, you have to be a member of the Apple beta testing program. If you are you will receive the iOS 11.4 update over the air once the proper profile is installed on your device.
If you're not a member of the Apple beta testing program, head over to Apple's testing website which will give you access to uOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS betas.
In terms of what the fourth beta houses for the general users, it features AirPlay 2 support which will allow you to play the same song on multiple devices. Apart from this, it also adds Apple TV to the Home app and also offers support for Messages in Cloud.
tvOS 11.4 also brings support for AirPlay 2. The feature was present in the tvOS 11.3 update but it was later ditched by the company. If you have installed the first public beta of tvOS 11.4, the Apple TV will be listed in the Home App.
If you're interested in giving it a swing, you can install the first public beta of tvOS 11.4 on your Apple TV via a proper profile. Once you do that, navigate to the Software Update section situated under "System". Once you do that "Get Public Beta Updates" will be available. Toggle it on to download the software.
