As it's a Monday, we've got a lot of leaks for you today. A while back, an alleged OnePlus 6 DxOmark image came to light, depicting the smartphone's front in clear detail. Now, a poster features a purported launch date for the smartphone. The current trend of rumors for OnePlus' 2018 flagship smartphone suggests an expedited launch. This is also the subject of today's leak, which is the first of its kind. So if you want to get an idea of when the OnePlus 6 might launch, head over below. We've got some alleged details.

Shaky OnePlus 6 Poster Displays May 5th As The Smartphone's Launch Date; Corroborates Industry Sentiment Of An Expedited Launch For The Device

Courtesy of the rumor mill, we've got a lot of details available for the OnePlus 6. In addition to rumors, the manufacturer itself has also been very helpful for clearing up misconceptions. A highly notorious feature this year, particularly for Android devices, is a display notch. The advent of edge to edge displays with 18:9 aspect ratios necessitates a top cut-out to house front sensors. This breaks a seamless viewing experience preferred by many users.

OnePlus jumped right into the heart of this controversy recently, after co-founder Carl Pei took to Twitter, asking the company's followers to 'learn to love the notch.' They didn't, and instead reacted so strongly that Pei was forced to delete his tweet. Soon, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau clarified the company's stance on the matter, confirming that users will have an option to hide this notch on the OnePlus 6.

Now, we've got an alleged poster from a Chinese retailer which promises details for the OnePlus 6's launch date. According to the image, the device will launch in less than a month for Chinese users. Rumors for a special Avengers themed OnePlus 6 are also common, so it's highly likely that today's information has more weight to it than we'd like to admit at the moment.

OnePlus has to meet a tall order of specifications on the OnePlus 6 if it's to adequately compete with existing gadgets on the market. Both Samsung and Sony made huge strides in camera performance this year, and Xiaomi caught up with its Mix 2s. Safe to say, OnePlus will have to focus on photography with its upcoming device. Whether it will, we'll find out soon enough. Till then, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
