Latest OnePlus 6 Teaser Shows The Smartphone's Left Side From The Back; Company Appears To Have Relocated Device's Alert Slider

At the moment, we've got a lot of details for the OnePlus 6, from both official and unofficial sources. Officially, it's confirmed that the smartphone will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 and a variant with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM. For users worried about a display notch, Pete Lau has also made it clear that they can hide it using software tricks once the device is out in public.

Unofficially, we know that the OnePlus 6 might be slightly wider than its predecessor. Conventional 18:9 displays make for taller devices, and a leaked image suggests that OnePlus will compensate for this on the upcoming smartphone. Additionally, sources also expect that the 64GB variant for the device will retail at around $500.

However, today's teaser directly contradicts an alleged DxOmark listing for the smartphone which purportedly displayed several form-related details.

In the image above, the OnePlus 6 is placed directly under the OnePlus 5T. If you're a clear-eyed observer, a couple of details jump right off the bat. In a direct comparison with the 5T, the first thing that's changed this year is the position for the OnePlus 6's alert slider. It's replaced by the SIM card jacket, making us wonder where the company will place the much-loved feature this year. A second change on the smartphone is the position for its antenna bands.

They no longer appear to wrap around its back and seem limited to its sides. The missing slider raises some interesting questions too. Maybe its repositioning has something to do with the smartphone's rear camera. But this is just a guess at the moment, so you're free to speculate all you want.

Finally, let's hope more leaks or teasers for that fantastic rear finish take place. It just might end up differentiating the OnePlus 6 massively in terms of aesthetics. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
