Galaxy S9 Plus With an iPhone X Camera Lining & Smaller Battery Might Be Released Soon

The Chinese market is currently dominated by local brands that offer affordable phones such as OPPO, Huawei, Vivo, and Xiaomi. Samsung hasn’t really won over the Chinese yet and keeps coming out with different variants of its phones for the Chinese market.

The latest in line is a new Galaxy S9 variant with a Galaxy S9 Plus camera that is placed at the top left corner at the back of phone. This alignment has previously been seen on the iPhone X, as well as the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S.

Galaxy S9 Plus mini Features a Dual-Camera but the Same Battery Capacity as a Regular Galaxy S9

This Galaxy S9 variant has received a go-ahead from the Chinese regulatory authority. It has the same dimensions, weight, and specifications as the Galaxy S9, with the model number being SM-G8850. Various tech blogs are calling this phone the Galaxy S9 mini but don’t let the name mislead you as it is definitely not a mini version of the Galaxy S9. In fact, it will be more apt to call it a mini version of the Galaxy S9 Plus. The front camera would be on the right-hand side of the notch, not left.

The Galaxy S9 Plus mini will be released in the 4GB and 6GB RAM models. So if you ever needed a Galaxy S9 with more RAM, this Chinese variant could be your next pick. The phone will have a 3,000mAh battery, but this capacity is the same one present in the regular version of the Galaxy S9. Still, it will support fast-charging and will most likely be powered by the Exynos 9 Series 9810 chipset.

It is not known when the phone will be released and how much it will retail for but Samsung might be crossing its fingers to see if this particular variant makes it big in the Chinese market. Do you think will variant might sell well than the remaining two flagships released by Samsung?
