Ninja Theory’s HellBlade has sold more than 50.000 copies on Xbox One in less than a week after its release.
Last week, the Cambridge-based independent developer announced that it would donate $25.000 to Mental Health America if the game would sell 50.000 units on Xbox One in week 1.
Taking to Twitter today, Ninja Theory has now announced that this $25.000 donation target has been reached within only 4 days. We’ve included the sales graph, as provided by the developer, below:
If HellBlade manages to sell 100.000 units by April 18th, Ninja Theory will donate $50.000 to Mental Health America.
Back in October of last year, Ninja Theory already announced that it has raised £60,798.80 (approx $80,000/€69,000) for mental health charity Rethink Mental Illness. Speaking of the donation, Tameem Antoniades, Ninja Theory co-founder and Chief Creative Ninja, said “We’re proud of our fans for showing their kindness towards others who, like our hero Senua, need our help and support to continue the good fight. Our donation to Rethink Mental Illness will impact many people’s lives in a meaningful way and help shed light on their darkness. Our small gesture has made a big difference. Thank you.”
Hellblade tells the story of Senua, a Celtic warrior who is left traumatised by a Viking invasion. The Xbox One version, with Xbox One X enhancements, was announced back in March of this year.
Hellblade on Xbox supports HDR and the game is enhanced for Xbox One X, with players having the choice of 3 enhanced modes to select from: Enhanced Visuals mode offers extra FX and visual quality throughout the experience, High Framerate mode runs the game at 60fps and High Resolution mode runs the game with dynamic resolutions up to 4K.
HellBlade is available now for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
