Ming-Chi Kuo has been one of the most valuable and prolific sources of rumors about Apple's unreleased products since 2010. His research notes were typically delivered information accumulated from Apple's supply chain partners in Taiwan and other Asian countries. Due to the reliability of his sources, the anticipation of forthcoming products from Apple was rather accurate. However, the speculation sometimes fell short of specific details and release dates.

Even though Kuo's track record is not perfect, several of the high-profile rumors were accurate. For instance, the analyst accurately predicted the iPhone X back in 2016 saying that the company is working on a device with a 5.8-inch display featuring a glass back and a metal frame. Other times, Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple would ditch the headphone jack in iPhone 7 along with several other speculations like stereo speakers, water resistant, a glossy jet black color and more.

Other products speculated by Kuo based on his supply chain sources include the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, Apple Watch Series 2 with GPS, Apple Pencil, 12-inch MacBook, MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, iPhone SE and much more. Other tiny tidbits were also shared by the former KGI analyst.

Kuo has not yet commented on his departure from KGI and hence no details are available from his regard. There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for more details.
