It's a good day for LG fans. The company launched the LG G7 ThinQ earlier this year, in order to maintain its presence in the flagship smartphone market. The G7 ThinQ is sufficiently equipped to meet all required high-end specifications. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845, features 4GB and 6GB of RAM depending on storage configuration.

The device also has a dual rear camera with 16+16MP resolution. It also features a display notch, which will undoubtedly prove a turn off for many Android fans. However, a recent feature that's been activated on the LG G7 ThinQ via a firmware update might change opinions. Take a look below for more details.

The LG G7 ThinQ Can Now Record 4K Video At 60fps Courtesy Of Company's Latest Firmware Update For the Device

Looks like LG's really serious to rub shoulders with the smartphone giants this year. After launching the LG G7 ThinQ under a semi-new branding, the company looks to make a fresh start on the lineup this year. LG's faced some troubles in the flagship market of late, with both the LG G6 and the LG G5.

The former was unluckily unable to score Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 as its processor. The latter's unique design failed to catch on with users. Therefore, the G7 ThinQ is the first smartphone from LG in recent years which manages to smoothly capture the requirements for a flagship smartphone classification.

One feature particularly emphasized by Samsung with the Galaxy S9 launch is 4K recording at 60fps. This managed to outdo Sony's Xperia XZ2 lineup, despite the Japanese manufacturer's prowess with rear cameras. It also kept up with Apple's 2017 iPhone lineup. Now, LG will be able to keep up with both Apple and Samsung as the LG G7 ThinQ can also record 2160 pixels at 60fps, courtesy of a firmware upgrade. Sadly, the update is available only to Korean users for now, but LG should make it available internationally should things proceed smoothly.

Of course, recording is limited to 6 minutes for both computing and storage reasons. The firmware update focuses on the camera and makes other improvements as well. With the upgrade, the LG G7 ThinQ will surely be a treat for users who love photography and video recording with their devices. It will also help the company regain its standing in the smartphone world. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
