Samsung latest crown jewel, the Galaxy Note 9 is finally here and it brings forth a series of improvements from all angles, especially if you are a Galaxy Note 8 user who is to pick up the Note 9 as their daily driver for at least a period of 12 months. The latest announcement might have introduced the flagship, but Samsung has also done us a grand favour might showing us a comparison between last year’s flagship and the latest one.
The phone will be sold in two storage configurations; a 128GB one paired with 6GB RAM for $999 and a 512GB storage variant with 8GB RAM for $1,250. Pre-orders will kick off on August 10 and the phone will be available from August 24 at all main carriers or unlocked models from Samsung.
Apart from the relocated fingerprint scanner that has been placed below the rear camera, the Note 9 looks a lot like its predecessor. Like the Note 8, its successor offers fast wireless charging, water resistance, and expandable storage. The headphone jack and the Bixby button have also been retained. Furthermore, adding a 512GB microSD card to the 512GB Note 9 will give you 1TB of storage.
The phone will be available in the colours blue and pink in the U.S. The blue variant will come with a bright yellow S-Pen accessory. The device also measures in at 6.4 inches and sports a Super AMOLED Quad HD+ display. The phone is slightly shorter than the Note 8 because of the trimmed down bezels while rocking a matte aluminium frame with chamfered borders.
The Galaxy Note 9 also packs a 4,000mAh battery and is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset for U.S.-based customers. The GPU has been optimized and the phone also contains a new water cooling system to ensure consistent performance during gaming sessions. The Galaxy Note 9 is also the first phone to come with the popular game Fortnite and you can also get bonus items if you choose the Fortnite pre-order package instead of the AKG headphones one.
The Note 9 is also armed with a dual-camera system on the back (12MP + 12MP) and the primary lens has dual-aperture (F/1.5 or F/2.4). Both cameras have optical image stabilization and there have also been improvements in terms of AI.
