The PUBG Xbox development team is looking for ways to address the apparent PUBG 1.0 Xbox One X performance issues.

After being in early access for 9 months, Bluehole and Microsoft rolled out the retail 1.0 release of PUBG for all Xbox One systems last week, but many players on the Xbox One X are suffering from major framerate drops.

In a new post on the official PUBG forums, community manager Lumos writes that Bluehole is aware of these issues and is looking for ways to fix the performance issues on Microsoft’s enhanced Xbox One console. According to Lumos, the reason for this issue is due to the Xbox One X using more graphic options and higher resolution textures which result in fps drops.

“One of the biggest issues that we are currently investigating are framerate drops while playing”, the community coordinator writes. “Specifically, many players are experiencing major framerate drops during gunfights or during ADS.”

“The reason for this issue is that Xbox One X uses higher resolution textures and requires more graphics options to output better overall visual quality. This could be causing lowered framerates, especially during resource heavy situations like gun fights.”

Lumos adds that the team is looking for multiple ways to fix stabilize the framerates on the Xbox One X. “We’re currently looking into different ways to fix these issues to stabilize framerates in these situations. We apologize for any frustration caused and hope to have more details to share soon.”

PUBG is available now globally for Xbox One (including Xbox One X) and PC.
