As anticipated earlier, the Super Slow Motion on the Galaxy Note 9 allows you to take 0.4s of 960fps video at 720p compared to the 0.2s of 960fps video at 720p on the Galaxy S9/S9+. Now, the September security update is rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in some regions, and it also brings the Super Slow-Motion and AR Emoji features to the 2017 flagship. The update also bumps the Android security patch up to September and lets Galaxy Note 8 users create AR Emojis. The AR Emoji endeavour (which is a poor imitation of Apple's Animoji) has been largely unsuccessful but Samsung still has faith in it and makes it a point to add new emojis from time to time. Galaxy S9 and S9+ get the September 2018 security patch

Samsung has started updating the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ with the September 2018 security patch today, following similar updates for the Galaxy Note 9 and the Note 8. The firmware version for the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ updates is G960FXXS2BRI1 and G965FXXS2BRI1 respectively. The September 2018 security patch is included; it fixes a number of critical vulnerabilities in both Android and Samsung’s software. The new Galaxy S9 update is currently available in a number of European markets and it should soon be making its way to other regions. You can see if it’s available for you by tapping the Download updates manually option in the Software update section of the phone’s settings. Alternatively, you can even use Samsung Smart Switch to sideload the update to your device via a PC/Mac.
