Bethesda’s Vice President, Pete Hines, has confirmed that a new Wolfenstein game, Wolfenstein III, is definitely in the pipeline.

Hines said as much in a new interview with British media outlet Metro in which Bethesda’s VP was asked about the upcoming Fallout 76, RAGE 2, DOOM Eternal, and the Wolfenstein franchise.

As some point in the interview, Hines was asked about the reception of Wolfenstein II and whether there will be a Wolfenstein III.

“Absolutely we’re making a Wolfenstein III”, Hines confirmed. “They said on stage that they’re taking a break from the larger story to do this thing. But we all have to see how that ends.”

So there you have it, Bethesda will definitely be making a new Wolfenstein game. When this game will arrive is unsure at this point though. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was released last year, and the game’s prequel, The New Order was released back in 2014. Wolfenstein: Old Blood, the prequel to The New Order, was released in 2015.

A standalone sequel to The new Colossus, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, is currently in the works at MachineGames for a release on PC and consoles next year. The game was officially announced at Bethesda’s own E3 event this year.

Set in 1980, 19 years after BJ Blazkowicz ignited the second American Revolution, Wolfenstein: Youngblood introduces the next Blazkowicz generation to the fight against the Nazis. Play as one of BJ’s twin daughters, Jess and Soph, as you search for your missing father in Nazi-occupied Paris.

“Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a brand-new co-op experience from MachineGames, the award-winning studio that developed the critically acclaimed Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus”, the press release reads.
