A user has also created a 'concept theme in the same thread.
There are several advantages of using a Dark theme in apps. For one, it's easy on the battery life. OLED displays needs more power to push colors other than black, so we might see an improvement there. Additionally, it's a perfect setting for night time. The glare of the bright screen poses discomfort in dark environments. As a plus, dark mode just looks way better than the standard view as it provides a stealthier look.
