Previously, a screenshot could be taken using a simple Home + Power key combinations. At the end of the day, whether it's any smartphone or tablet, you'll come across a few lines of code running in the background that will end up freezing your device, making things absolutely unresponsive. In order to get things back to normal, a force reset is absolutely necessary.

So, how do you force reset an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max? It's simple really, but read through carefully because it's highly likely that you'll get it wrong in the first try. But it's all worth it in the end:

  • Press the Volume Up button then let go of it.
  • Immediately press the Volume Down button then let go of it.
  • Now Immediately press and hold the Power button until you see the power down screen which will then go completely black and after a few seconds you'll be greeted with the Apple logo.
  • Once you see the logo, just let go of the Power button.

Not as convenient as other smartphones, but hey, it's something, isn't it?
