With every second game doing a Halloween-themed event, there’s no shortage of spooky content for players to enjoy this year, but what if you’re looking for something a little more psychological? A bit more twisted than the usual pumpkins, skeletons, and zombies? Well then, you may want to keep an eye on Call of Cthulhu. The horror-adventure game comes out next week and has dropped a launch trailer, which mainly focuses on painter Sarah Hawkins, whose mysterious death sets the events of the game in motion. Of course, there’s plenty of dark imagery and creepy cultish guys in robes as well. Check it all out, below.

“Twists that left more questions then answers, as well as a chance to peek into the slightly off-kilter world just below the surface was more powerful than I expected. […] There’s still a lot we don’t know about [Call of Cthulhu]. Its branching skill based options might feel underwhelming, but a truly unnerving story and plenty of room to miss and find secrets makes it well worth keeping an eye on.”
Call of Cthulhu wraps its tentacles around the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 30.
