People Can Fly CEO Says Their AAA Shooter Is Much More Ambitious Than It Originally Was

People Can Fly, the Polish development team known mainly for Painkiller, Bulletstorm, and co-developing a bunch of titles alongside Epic Games from Gears of War 1-3 and Judgment to Fortnite, announced back in June 2017 a partnership with Square Enix to work on a triple-A shooter based on a new IP.

Since then, we haven't heard any significant news with the notable exception of two new offices opened last year by People Can Fly, which are both expected to be helping in the development of the aforementioned game.

Now, though, the company's CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski has revealed a few additional tidbits in an interview with DualShockers published today.

[It was] pitched back in 2015. The ambition around this game and the scope of the game grew over time, so it is a much bigger, much more ambitious project than what we pitched back in 2015. It is the same exact idea that we had back then.

I can only say good things about the cooperation with Square Enix. [There is a] separate, dedicated team at Square Enix that is helping us with our development design-wise, tech-wise, production-wise, and art-wise. [They are] taking responsibly of distribution, sales, and marketing of the game.

It appears that the delay in revealing the project may not be due to some kind of development trouble, but possibly to the increased scope of the game.

Either way, we'll let you know once People Can Fly and Square Enix finally lift the veil on this title. Until then, stay tuned on Wccftech.
