Galaxy Note 8 Android Pie Update Rolling Out in Some Markets

It was only a matter of time before the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 began to get its slice of the Pie, considering that its open beta was on in its final stages a few days ago. Today, the much-awaited update has started rolling out in Bulgaria and Slovakia for non-beta users. It is also available for beta participants who should get it OTA in the next few hours.

The stable update comes with software version N950FXXU5DSB2 and includes the February 2019 security patch (which was also available on the beta). Some users on Reddit claim that they have received the update in India as well, but we don't know anything about it just yet. As expected, the update brings with all the new Android Pie goodies along with Samsung's new OneUI design interface. It brings more minimal icons, notifications shades, navigation gestures, a system-wide dark theme, and much more

To download the update on your Note 8, open the Settings app on the phone, tap Software update, then tap the Download and install option. It may not be available in all regions just yet, so you may have to wait a few days, depending on where you are located. Based on what we've seen with the Galaxy S9 and Note 9, it shouldn't be too long before an international rollout is underway.

In their Android Pie roadmap posted earlier this year, Samsung promised that the Galaxy Note 89 would get its update 'mid-February'. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are next in line, according to the schedule and we should see something come of that in the next few days. We can also expect carriers to roll out the update to their devices before the month ends if things go smoothly.
