When we talk about Apple's products for a fiscal year, the leaks often follow a pattern. Early on in the year, famed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo provides the rumor mill with his expectations from the Cupertino tech giant. Then, as the months mature and we head closer to Apple's product launches, these details are either corroborated or rejected by subsequent leaks from the company's supply chain. This year's no different, as Ming-Chi Kuo is back today with a detailed leak of what to expect from Apple's different product lineups later this year. Head over below for more details.

The 2019 iPhone Will Also Charge Other Devices Wirelessly And Feature A Triple Camera Setup Believes TF International's Ming-Chi Kuo

In a detailed report, Ming-Chi Kuo has highlighted plans not only for the iPhone but also for the MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch and surprisingly, the iPod. We'll start off with the iPhone. Huawei's introduction of 'reverse wireless charging' last year really seems to have caught the attention of both Samsung and Apple. The Korean tech giant is expected to introduce a similar feature on the Galaxy S10 smartphones later this week. And now, it looks like Apple will also jump on this bandwagon.

Additionally, the 2019 iPhones will also feature UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) to allow users 'indoor positioning and navigation'. What this means is that the iPhone will get features such as indoor mapping and location tracking, which will follow in line with the Apple Watch's fall detection feature that Apple introduced last year. As technology matures, Apple is focusing on specific areas that provide users with benefits its competitors' gadgets do not.

In terms of design, this year's three iPhones will not change much over their predecessors. They'll feature similar display sizes, but Kuo does state that the gadgets will get frosted glass casings and that Apple will improve its True Depth camera's Flood Illuminator to improve accuracy. The trio will also get triple rear cameras and increase their battery capacity. Finally, today's report also suggests that the 6.1" iPhone XR successor will increase its RAM count to 4GB.

Apple Will Also Launch A New iPod Touch This Year With An Upgraded Processor

Moving from the iPhone to the iPad and iPod, Kuo believes that Apple will launch new variants of both the gadgets that feature upgraded application processors. He also believes that the company will increase the 9.7" iPad's screen to 10.2". The analyst adds that Apple's new AirPods will ship in the first half of this year and that the buds will also be accompanied by Apple's Air Power wireless charging mat.

We're excited to see Kuo mention the iPod Touch, particularly as there has been slight speculation surrounding an impending upgrade. The company last updated the product in 2015, and after four years, Tim Cook and Co might find mobile gaming a compelling enough reason to merit another upgrade. However, don't get your hopes up for Face ID on the iPod as if Apple does launch the gadget, it'll most likely target gamers and new entrants to its ecosystem. The last bit is particularly important, as Apple has started to tout its user base as an alternative to gadgets' unit shipments, as evidenced by its latest earnings release.
