World War Z

The promising co-op zombie shoot ‘em up World War Z recently revealed its release date, and now pre-orders have officially been opened. But before we get to that, a new trailer has been released – we get to see the game’s trademark zombie hordes wreaking havoc in locations around the world, including New York, Moscow, and Jerusalem, all set to the dulcet tones of Boom by P.O.D. Yeah, I’m not so sure about Saber Interactive’s taste in music, but the action certainly looks exciting! Check out the trailer, below.

As mentioned, pre-orders for World War Z are open now, meaning the game’s April release date is hopefully a solid one. Everybody who pre-orders will get the Lobo, aka “The Lobotomizer,” a brutal zombie-dispatching melee weapon featured in the World War Z books, but not seen in the movie. You’ll also get a trio of golden weapon skins for those who want to class up their zombie slaughter. You can pre-order World War Z right here.

Haven’t been keeping up with World War Z? The game is 4-player co-op experience in the same vein as Left 4 Dead, except with huge, dynamic zombie swarms. The game also includes a PvPvE mode. Here’s the game’s official synopsis:

Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time on players in a nail-biting action experience around the world, including New York, Moscow, Jerusalem and more. Play in co-op with up to 3 friends using six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps to demolish the undead menace and survive another day.

I’ve had a chance to go hands-on with World War Z, and trust me, the game is surprisingly fun. If you’ve got a few extra minutes, you can learn about World War Z’s zombie types, ties to the movies, and more in Wccftech’s full interview.

World War Z shambles onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on April 16.
