Samsung Galaxy SIII rumored specs revealed

After the VERY succesful launch of the Samsung Galaxy SII which has taken the smartphone world by storm, Samsung plans on introducing the SGS III in February 2012 in Barcelona and according to the rumors, the specifications are pretty amazing and if the rumor is true, the SGSIII should be every bit as succesful as its predecessor maybe even more and easily the most powerful smartphone we have seen uptil now.

The device will have a 4.65" SXGA screen with Super AMOLED III technology which is being developed specially for this smartphone. The brain behind the phone will supposedly be a 2.0Ghz Quad core processor which should put the SIII in a league of its own as far as raw power is concerned. 1.5GB of RAM will be complementing the processor, and it will have 32GB of built-in storage. The device will also have a 10 mega pixel camera capable of recording in 1080p and a 2250mAh battery! All of this will be powered by Android Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz 5.0 on top.

Since this a rumor there will always be doubts about the degree of credibility of it, and the specifications although amazing, seem more like a wishlist of what one would want on the next generation smartphone and it seems a bit unlikely that smartphone hardware could take such a big leap in a matter of a few months. Still we also have to consider the SGSII was a game changer and Samsung would want to live up to its reputation and so they are giving it everything they can. Most of the specifications seem reasonable for Samsung's next flagship phone from this perspective but if you ask me the 2.0 Ghz quad core processor is still a bit far fetched considering the most we have now is a 1.5Ghz dual core one in phones like the HTC Vigor. Still anything is possible in the smartphone world, we'll have to wait and see what happens in the coming months.
